When you use Segment there’s no need to write custom code, or even to bundle Facebook SDKs. Segment event and contextual data can be translated and sent directly from Segment’s servers into Facebook App Events. That means less of your customers’ data and battery used up on loading analytics tracking in your application. The standard set of Ecommerce events from the Segment Spec is mapped to Facebook App Event’s naming standards automatically. Additionally, you can map any of your existing Segment events to other Facebook App Event event names, like Activate App, Search, CompletedRegistration, and more. User traits like birthday, city, gender, also get passed through to the Facebook Pixel.
